Creating Connectedness tools

In 2019 a group of organisations involved in the Loneliness Lab came together to share ideas and insights about how to make public spaces more connected.

This was part of the work being done on public space interventions to connect people within the local area around Euston Station.

The following tools were created by Central Saint Martins in collaboration with Lendlease, Camden Council and Collectively.

They include persona cards, a connectedness canvas and a version of the loneliness map.

If you are planning a workshop to explore how to tackle loneliness in your area. You might wish to use these resources as inspiration. A report of ideas from the workshop is included too.

Many thanks to all the organisations that helped shape this.

These tools were created by Lydia Hyde and Professor Adam Thorpe through the MAKE @ Story Garden project. The collaborating organisations were: Central Saint Martins, Camden Council, Lendlease & Collectively. This work is licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0.

We believe in sharing our resources openly, and we’d love to stay connected and hear how they have been useful to you. If you aren’t already subscribed to the Loneliness Lab, you can do so here. If you have any feedback, please email us at hello@lonelinesslab.org
